EBO (ES / AS) -> EBO integration via EWS
Hi there!
Is there a way of Adding EBO (Automation Server OR Enterprise Server) to Data Center Expert via EWS ?
We have already tested the below scenarios:
1. Adding DCE to EBO via EWS
2. Adding AS to DCE via DDFs
Would like to explore adding EBO to DCE via EWS, with no OR minimum DDF effort.
Thanks

EBO can publish modbus register by tcp/IP and DCE can read it by a DDF or modbus module

@masolans , yes, this is what we have been doing.
The ask is more about EWS. Can DCE read EBO via EWS?
We are looking for a more scalable solution. When you add a DDF to read EBO, and if you have any alterations of devices at BMS end, you DDF is no longer valid.
We are looking for a seamless integration via EWS.

HI,
DCE only supports Modbus TCP, SNMP (v1 &v3), and Netbotz appliance. DCE consume data from EBO via EWS is not supported. But EBO is able to consume data from DCE via EWS.
Hope this helps.
BR,
TJ

As others have mentinoned, you cannot integrate EBO and DCE with EWS. One solution to EBO presenting all devices as a single modbus device is to use a device like an SMC Field Server to break up a single modbus devices into multiple modbus devices, (eg 1 modbus address per device) and then discover them in DCE as separate devices with 1 ddf per unique device type.
This is a common ACS solution for integrating EBO and other 3rd party BMS' into DCE. Then if you need to modify the BMS, as long as the other devices remain unchanged, you only need to have the field server programming modified and can add or remove devices to DCE. If you add devices, you will also need new DDFs created.
