Device Discovery thru Hostname

Hello Support Team,

Good morning!

There is an option to discover the device thru Hostname instead by IP or IP Range. Because if the device like for us the device that I want to discover is the UPS and this UPS is part of the Domain and our UPS was located in different subsidiary.

Hi Floro,

DCE's device discovery is limited to IPs or IP ranges at this time.

DCE requires a static IP and the only reason to require a hostname would usually be either a non-static IP or a device on another network with a duplicate IP. Either way, DCE wouldn't work well.

If you use the device support menu at the top of the page, you can enter a feature request but I can't say for certain when or if it will actually make it into the product.
