Hello,
I'm looking for an exhaustive list of alarms available on Galaxy7000 and PX250/500 through the DDF file.
Could you send me these files or explain me where are they available?
Thanks

Hi Philippe,
Are you looking for all alerts the device can possibly output or just the ones that DCE will alarm for? Often times, the DCE server will (due to the DDF) omit some informational alarms so these lists will differ.
The alerts from DCE are not actually listed out per-say. Because devices have the ability to update firmware and get new alerts, we can't make a document outside of DCE. From within DCE, you would have to add the device and then look at the available alerts in the alerts perspective.
In the device itself, I would suggest a similar thing. In the device's web interface, you can see the different alerts the specific device is capable of.

It's clear, thank you Steve.
I'm definitively looking from available alarms through DCE (DDF File) but I have no products available to check alerts.
Is it possible to check these from DCE (without connection to a life product)? If not could you send me the relevant DDF files?
Thanks again
Philippe

Hi Philippe,
The SNMP devices use a DDF downloaded from the device that defines what to alert on. Again, newer firmware may have different events. The one device I have access to is a 250 running v5.1.6/5.1.9 firmware.
Here is the essential alerts DDF from that device.

Yes, understand it depends on the firmware version of the DDF downloaded from the device.
By chance, do you have one from a Galaxy7000?
Thanks again

Hi Philippe,
I do not have a 7000 here. If anyone else listening in has one, you simply need to FTP to the device and do "get ddf.zip".
Thanks,
Steve
