DDF Stulz WIB 8000

Hello All,

Does anyone out there have the DDF for the Stulz "WIB 8000"?
If so does it work OK on DCE/SNMP?
What level of Firmware is the WIB 8000?
When discovering this device in DCE it "initialising" for abut 15 minutes and then errors.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Craig

Hi Craig, please email to multivendorsupport@schneider-electric.com keeping a local Tech Support in loop to get quicker revert on DDF related queries. They can search through their DDF database & revert you with required information.

Thanks Aniruddha. the reason I am asking is that I have had local tech support engaged on this for about a year (I assume they are engaging Multivendor support) and I still don't have access to my Stulz units on DCE. We have moved through various DDFs (up to V15 now). Provided various SNMP walks and had on-site support. I am asking if anyone out there has had success and what they did to succeed as my local support is disappointing to say the least on this one.

Hello Craig,

Has your local technical support request a packet capture between DCE and the Stulz unit? This would help technical support to determine what information is being requested and received on DCE side. Do you have a technical support case number that I might be able to reference?

Hello. The Case number is C1-5308562521. As far as I know there has been no 'packet capture' done (unless the tech did it once while on site during the several visits on this issue).

Hi Craig .. do you have resolved this issue ?

I have a WIB 8000 unit connected to my DCE 7.4.3 and is recognized as generic SNMP device.

The only "sensor" I can see is the "online" status so I can't monitoring anything else than the unit online or not.

I have asked to a Italian APC tech support and they have answered that the only way is to create a customized DDF paying some day of an engineer work ( about 3000 euro ) .. this sound crazy to me

HI Stefano,

The short answer is that it does work and I now have meaningfull readings.  Like you, iniitally, the only thing you see is the Link Status, but if you wait, litteraly hours, it will eventually start working.

First I assume you can WEB into the device and see meaningfull things and that SNMP is enabled on the WIB?

If that is true then run the discover and let it run overnight.  While I cant be certain it seems that the DDF causes the WIB to try to discover all possible CRAC units that could be connected (I suspect quite a few) so give it time, lots of time, and it does eventually get there. (after it polls and times out on every possible device).

At least that is how it seems to be to me.

Good luck

Craig

Hi Craig

Unfortunately the device scan will always report this device as generic SNMP

In any case, investigating more on internet I have found the MIB file and when I was ready to submit the DDF request on the device support page I have discovered that the WIB8000 DDF is already on the list of the available 3rd party devices ... so I have requested it hoping that will resolve my needing.

Thank you

Best regards

Stefano

I meant making sure SNMP is enabled in the WIB 8000 itself as I knot the DDF will always report SNMP device, but is the WIB setup properly? (Correct Public/Private name, Port etc)

If you like I can send you the DDF I have from Multivendor which is working fine for me?  I woudl need a method to send it to you?

Yes the SNMP is enable because DCE is able to read the basic info like device name, location and contact. More than this if I manually ad an OID to scan the information will be read .. but working for OID is not so simple because we have to add manually each sensors we want to read.

Let's wait to have a DDF form DCE Device Support service and see what's happen .. I will let you know as soon has been delivered to me and tested.
