DCO to ITAdvisor Migration and Upgrade?

So I heard or read somewhere that DCO is going to be "replaced" with IT Advisor. Is that true? How do you do it?

I think on the Old Forum there was a link to the new ITA webpage which talked about some of this however I could never login or get very many details on the new software, pro and cons and how do make the switch.

Any details can be provided?

Regards,

J

Hello John.

I will try to answer your questions.

Yes, DCO is no longer being updated. Its last public release is DCO 8.3.2.

IT Advisor represents a rebranding of DCO with some changes in its offered modules (licenses) where some former DCO modules have been removed and others combined. All newer roadmap items and features are being applied to ITA releases now.

Here's a quick summary of the changes to licenses/modules:

Energy Efficiency, Insight, Server Access, and IT Power Control modules are not currently offered in ITA

Colo and Energy Cost are now part of base rack licensing in ITA so they are no longer separate licenses.

Customers with an active support contract for DCO are entitled to upgrade to ITA from DCO

The general ITA information page is here (in the new helpcenter): https://helpcenter.ecostruxureit.com/hc/en-us/categories/360001633134-EcoStruxure-IT-Advisor

The other difference with IT Advisor which comes in two flavors.

* On-Premise is where ITA is installed in the customers datacenter environment and managed by the customer

* Hosted is where the ITA server is hosted by Schneider for the customer. Schneider owns the management and configuration of the hosted ITA server (Schneider owns upgrades, backups, and troubleshooting server issues).

Both versions of ITA can be connected to ITE for device information and alarms. The on-premise (installed in the customers datacenter like DCO) version of ITA can be connected to ITE, DCE, and ITO.

Hope this answers your questions.

Regards

Greg Sterling
