Jef Faridi I have a concern over the power capacity that is it calculated based on the nameplate of the equipment's ?
Mobily (Customer) has more than 10,000 equipment's in one data center, it is impossible to get the accurate values of each equipment and that is why the power capacity gets wrong even thought we don't have the equipment's in the genome library
Please i need your support in this matter that how can we get the accurate power capacity as well as cooling capacity
PS: we have sensors on ups, pdu, rectifiers and on power panels only but when we connected the power path and because of the wrong nameplate KW value on equipment's the power is exceeding on ups,pdu and power panel.
we also have sensors on AHU but i want to make sure that these are virtual sensors for power as well as cooling (Integrated from BMS and Site-scan) which we converted by using a RLE converter via BACnet protocol and then we took the OID from converter and created sensor in DCE and then integrated with DCO
There is a huge difference between the sensor value and the actual value from nameplate (Talking about the sensor value of ups, rectifiers, and PDU)
Pls suggest
Thanks

Hello Waseem.
You mention you have sensor info on the pdu's and rectifiers. Do you have power measurement on your breaker panels or rack pdu's?
If yes, the predictive power feature of DCO 8.x may be helpful as your rack and pdu capacity would be based on measured power values instead of the estimated load from the item genomes.

Greg Sterling Thank you for your reply
Yes we do have sensors on PPC (Power Panel-breakers- The breaker power goes to RPDU ) but we don't have any sensor on RPDU
Let me clear you with the power chain
UPS-PDU-PPC(PowerPanel) and then its connected to RPDU- For AC
Rectifiers-DCDB-DCSDP- and then connected to rack bus bar
We have sensors on UPS, PDU and PPC for AC
and for DC we only have sensors on Rectifiers not on panels

Jef Faridi attached are the screen-shot predictive power is not working
Let me clear you electrical rooms are not in the same DC room we have seperate rooms for electrical and Data center
i have also attached the screen shot of ups and pdu the red color is the power calculated from rack equipments nameplate which isn't correct and the green one is the power that we have associated through sensor same applies for pdu.
Pls suggest how can we calculate the power utilization
PS: in actual we have seperate 6 ups each 160 kw connected to 1 pdu but in DCO we can't connect seprate ups's to 1 pdu so i have created one parallel ups and multiplied 160 KW x6= 960 KW

Hi Waseem,
What do you mean by 'predictive power is not working'?
Are you unable to set the Estimated load strategy to "Predictive Power"?
The estimated load calculations always fall back on the best available information in the rack.
If I'm not mistaking you do not have power measurements on rack pdus neither on breaker panels, so the adjusted nameplates (for the power consuming equipment in the rack) would be used.
Kind regards

Jef Faridi Hi jef
Yes I'm unable to set the estimated load i receive an error get measurement configuration already the screen shot is attached
yes we don't have the power measurement on rack pdu's but we do have sensor on power panels, pdu's and on ups's you can check the above screen shot for pdu and ups and below is the attached screen shot for power panel (PPC) the sensor is associated shows current in amperes the breakers are on this PPC and then it is going to RPDU
PS: We are using virtual sensors these are not the actual from Schneider

Hi Waseem,
As you know, during our offline talks we didn't manage to get details around this matter/issue. However, I would like to share with you that DCO 8.2.7 is just released, it contains many enhancements including power capacity related improvements (StruxureWare Data Center Operation 8.2.7 new features). So I would suggest to upgrade the product to latest version - I will send you a direct email soon, thanks.
Kind regards
