DCO - UCS Manager integration is not updating blade information

I using UCS Manager integration in DCO. Due to migration we quite often moving blades between chassis/PODs but DCO is not following these changes. An example from UCS Manager and DCO from the same chassis:

Power metric data compute interval is set to 86400 sec (1 day). I was wait 3-4 days after physical blade move when I checked this change in DCO.

Hi Mate, Would it be possible to ask for: a copy of the latest backup server logs name of the external system (if there are more than one), and the name/location of the devices/chassis. Screen capture(s) would also be fine, so they can be looked for in the setup/logs. Please let me know, if I should send you an invite & share my =S= box folder with you, thanks. Kind regards

Hi Jef, I did not checked so deeply in version 7.5 the UCS integration but if I remember well I also found discrepancies between DCO and UCS Manager there.

Hi Mate, I have been discussing this with our developers, it is not a known issue, but in the server logs we do see the "Reconnect to Cisco UCS manager" notification almost every 5 minuets. We were wondering if it is possible to ask about your Cisco UCS managers version including Software and Firmware versions, thanks. Kind regards

Hi Jef, It is strange because I setup the refresh interval to 86400 sec (1 day) and not 5 minutes. We have UCS Manager version 2.2 (the sub version can be various such as 2.2.8a, 2.2.8b, etc...).

Hi Mate, The "Compute power data every ... seconds" settings (1 day in your configuration) is to retrieve the power data (from Cisco UCS Manager). The changes in the real model expected to be populated in DCO within a few minuets time. A particular job check, for UCS integrations, running every 5 minutes to update the information between DCO and its integrated UCS external systems. I don't think the UCS integration have been tested with older versions (such as 2.2), our latest tests have been with the version 3.1. Perhaps you might want to give it a try with an updated ucs version and see if that helps. Further more, the issue basically might be a network related problem, the only thing I can see in the log files is that DCO trying to reconnect to external systems (ucs managers), but apparently not receiving data. Kind regards

Hi Jef,

Try to response to your points:

  • I can not understand the network related problem. Everytime if I run a test in External Systems window I get "green checks":

  • The reason is why we are using version 2 because that has much more compatibility with Cisco parts (blades, memory dimms, mezanine, adapter cards, etc...) Cisco also keep this major version release up to date and not just version 3. For example version 2.2.8e has been release 2 weeks before on 23/11/2016

Furthermore the UCS Manager upgrade is not a simple process because we have to check all the components in all 144 blades that is compatible with the new version.
