I have a need to store dates in DCO and to search and report on these. There is no "date" CP type in DCO. Is this coming?
I thought of storing as a CP "Number" type like YYYYMMDD. Is there a better way?
If a 'data' CP is coming, when and how can we migrate from the above format to the new date type?
Thanks

Currently, new custom property types are not planned.
An idea would be, as you suggest yourself, to use the standard format YYYYMMDD (or YYYY-MM-DD) but stored as text. Using the integer or number types would result in unwanted formatting as seen in the screenshot below.

Hi Ed, In addition to Martin's answer, you have another way of Tagging the device with Dates & you may draw inventory reports based on the Tags under the Reporting tool. In case if you are referring to the Installation dates, you still have a Generic property for that, under 'General Properties' for any asset, where you can define the Installation date & then getting the list view exported by sorting the 'Installation Date' column. Hope this helps.
