DCIM Support Community Landing Page no longer has News/Latest Release Info

The new landing page for DCIM Support Community v2.1.2 (help.se-dmaas.com/dashboard.action)  no longer provides News and "Latest Software Release" information and issues. I can't seem to find this information consolidated anywhere else, and we would have to periodically click on documentation links to see which version is being referenced. If this type of news/release info is going to be tracking moving forward within the team blog roll, then I would suggest the blog roll being a part of the landing page content and not buried as a link in the bottom region menus.

It may just be me, but having that information as the first content on landing page was extremely helpful as a quick reference, especially during the rash of recent vulnerabilities. Also, it most likely reduced forum questions from end-users, by self-answering what the status and remediation were for those vulnerabilities.

v2.1.2!

Hi Jeff,

Thanks for sharing, it's great to get some feedback on the changes we make!

We are actually planning to move the info about new releases and fixes to separate product pages that are being added in one of the next releases (which leaves a bit of a vacuum in the time between). With the new product pages we will have a 'news feed' for each product, that will make it easier to sort between and relevant and irrelevant items. Based on your feedback we might add a collected feed on the landing page too.

Let us know what you think in the comment section (both Jeff and others who might have an opinion)..

Have a good one!

/Kristoffer

Yes, a collected feed would be nice. I liked the "Latest Software Release" page to see when the new software is available. Without actually looking at the new format you are talking about, I can't comment on whether that would be a better option/change. Time will tell, I guess. J
