I've got a device that reports in uA (microAmps) and want to create an alert threshold of 0.000020, but receive the error above when attempting to configure the threshold. i.e. the smallest threshold that I can create is 5x larger than required.
I've contacted the DDF team and they have referred me here....
(The DDF reports sensor values correctly, BTW)
I imagine that this a function of DCE and will require some kind of update, like the create of a dedicated uA threshold choice under "Alarm Configuration>Create Thresholds>Current."

Hi John,
if DCE is not allowing it in such small increments, I would think that the only way to work around this in a timely manner would actually be to change the scaling in the DDF. Is it possible to share the conversation you had with the DDF team or at least provide the contact?
I'm sure an enhancement request could be entered for this but nothing can be done in a short enough time to help you out now.
If if the device can alert in these small values, it is also possible that the DDF can be configured to read the device's alert table.
Steve.

Hi Steven,
The DDF team just confirmed the behavior in DCE and suggested that I post here.
Perhaps scaling the DDF to is the most expedient method. I will bounce it off of them.

Hi John Wieczorek,
If I had a similar problem, I would have changed in the DDF-file unit measurement from uA (microAmps) to nA (nanoAmps). And then in DCE-client for example, it would be necessary to create a real threshold of not 0.000020uA, but 0.020nA.
With respect.
