I have a question regarding the email settings on DCE.
does it support SSL if using an email server with this security layer?

I let other community experts to answer your query.
I would like to let you know that one of my colleague tested DCE 7.4.3 tested it with office365, and it did work. So I assume that DCE can support SSL for email configuration, and it allows to change the port # for sending an email alert.
My suggestion is try to check the email configuration and see if it is working in your environment. Please make sure that the following details are entered correctly on your DCE.
Primary and Secondary DNS IP address
Domain Name
SMTP server host name or IP address
Port
Authentication
Make sure that the DCE IP address is allowed to send an email through your SMTP server
Make sure that your DCE version is the latest 7.4.3

A very similar topic on DCIM Support has already been considered recently by vadim.dvirnyy. But unfortunately, the customer has not yet responded to whether he has solved this problem or not. I.e., it depends a lot on what kind of SSL mail service you plan to use in conjunction with your DCE-server.
