How can I configure DCE and DCO to send it's system logs to a separate syslog server?

for 8.0, a standard rsyslog configuration will allow you to forward OS logs to a remote server. This will include apache/postgresql logs as well, but at the moment it will not include application server logs.
This is not currently part of the supported functionality, so the customer will be responsible for implementing the change to rsyslog as well as any adverse side effects (although I cannot really see any).
I am guessing that this is for security reasons?

Hi John,
There is no option in DCE to configure it to send logs to a syslog server. The individual devices (if APC and NetBotz) can be configured to send to syslog. I can't say for DCO, anyone?

I suspect the DCO OS can be configured to send syslog messages to your syslog server. As for the DCO application itself, you may be able to add a log watcher like swatch https://sourceforge.net/projects/swatch/ to send syslog. I suspect adding this type of functionality will not be supported and may have unintended effects but it seems pretty sedate to me. Anyone else had experience?

Thank you all for your responses. I hope my Security folks will accept those answers. I just couldn't find anything in the support section.
