HI there
I have the above a UPS i want to monitor in DCE.
IT is Schneider Galaxy VS 50kW UPS with a Network Management Card 4
I cannot get it added to DCE . I an only trying via basic SNMPv1 at the moment and tried everything. I will set it up using SNMP3 if i can get DCE to see device eventually.
I cannot connect o it via DCE.
I cannot SNMPWALK to it via DCE.
I CAN SNMPWALK to it from my command line on PC using devicewalk no problem at all.
I thought because they are both Schneider products it should be pretty easy.
I don't believe there would be any firewall rules in place preventing this as I am adding devices to DCE all the time.
any thoughts?
cheers
Bruce

Hi Bruce,
Could I clarify, are you using the snmpwalk function on the status page of the DCE? Also could we double-check that on the NMC, there's no NMS IP set in the SNMP settings (Configuration->Network->SNMPv1->Access Control - it'd be useful to set these to 0.0.0.0 while testing, and narrow them if needed once we're up and running).
Can I also ask if these devices are on the same or separate networks? If Ping Response is enabled on the NMC4 (Configuration->Security), can we try ping from the same DCE status page?
There's a very high probability that this is a connectivity issue, as the snmpwalk functionality does not depend on anything particularly unique about the DCE nor the NMC4, so we need to narrow down what would cause the NMC4 to answer one but not the other.
I can confirm you should expect this combination to work - we have a GVSUPS50KH with DCE 7.8.0 in our local lab, so I've tested this first-hand. There are some minor teething issues as the NMC4 is a very new platform, but SNMP should not be one of them.

Hi Shaun

Yes that is correct.

Yes that is correct. I have tried with 0.0.0.0 and narrowed it down as well. Still no go.
Can I also ask if these devices are on the same or separate networks?
They are on a separate network. however just about if not all our devices are on different network to DCE server.
If Ping Response is enabled on the NMC4 (Configuration->Security), can we try ping from the same DCE status page?
Yes it is enabled. I can ping fine from PC. I Can't ping from the DCE Status page. Good call. didn't try this option.
There's a very high probability that this is a connectivity issue, as the snmpwalk functionality does not depend on anything particularly unique about the DCE nor the NMC4, so we need to narrow down what would cause the NMC4 to answer one but not the other.
I agree. I have a Ticket in with our Network team as well. Thought i put it on the forum there in case something is know with NMC4

Yes it should be pretty easy to setup this device. There is nothing special about the site this was put in at.
Thanks for your help
cheers
