We want to migrate our virtual DCE/DCO servers from one physical machine to another. I want to confirm if the license is tied to the mac address or if i can have the struxtureware suport engagement on this.

Hi Chris, i plan on migrating these servers to a new environment, the licenses are attached to the mac address and i would love to get clarity on the following.
1) If the Mac Address should change, can i manually assign it?
2) I don't plan on doing a live migration, turning off the server and migrating should not affect the mac address.

Hi Olatoyese,
Before you switch on the migrated vm,have a look at the mac address. If it is manually assigned,it should not change.
If it changed, due to copying vmdk, you can adjust the mac address fir manually assigned mac address. You need to do this before turning on the migrated vm.
Alternative way to migrate
Do a backup of dce/dco,power off dce/dco vmvdeploy new dce/dco vm with the same mac addess, restore backup.
In the event you need to change the vm mac addressa on the new host, follow the alternative way above and contact your local tech support with valid support contract for them to reset your dce/dco licenses passcodes so uou can use it on the new vm mac address.
Hope the above clarified.
