Our Symmetra PX 160 is showing up in the Battery Age snapshot report in DCE as unknown.
Any ideas as to why an APC product would not be reporting the battery age correctly?

Hi Richard,
Upgrade the UPS firmware version to the latest version and see if it updates the battery Age.
If it does not help, upload the attached DDF file of Symmetra UPS which should resolve your problem.
To import:
Main menu->Device->SNMP Device Communication Settings->Device Definition Files->Add/Update Definitions
Please test and let us know if there is any query.

Hi Richard,
May I know the DCE version which you are using currently?
I am using DCE version 7.2.5 that is showing the battery Age for Symmetra PX 160. Please contact the Support team for upgrading the DCE version to the latest version. Note: Valid Software support Contract is required for upgrading the DCE.
Also make sure that the Symmetra PX 160's NMC firmware is the latest version.
Regards,
Bala

Hi Bala,
We are using DCE version 7.2.6. If it is working for you then maybe its not a DCE issue but maybe UPS firmware or a DDF issue.

Hi Bala,
thank you for your assistance. The update of the DDF from version 44 to version 46 resolved the issue.
If you try to check for updates SNMP or Modbus DDF files from the APC website I get the following error
An error has occurred. See error log for more details.
java.lang.NullPointerException
Should you be able to compare DDF versions from the APC site?
I beleive this issue has been raised many times regarding end user access to a DDF library to check for newer versions and compatability of products etc.
