I have created a policy on DCE to send out Email and SMS Alerts received from Netbotz 250s, 455s and 550s however I can only get Alerts from the Netbotzs 250s because I can add the devices to the Policy. Any advice now how I can get DCE to send Alerts from the other Netbotz? For now I have created Virtual Sensors from the Netbotz 550s and 455s and added them into the policy.

Dear Tafadzwa Madyegasva,
From your question:

Creating DCE virtual sensors for NetBotz-4.x appliances is the right workaround, but only for temperature/humidity sensors. To understand why this is done this way, Steven Marchetti answer from the topic will help you:
The NetBotz version 2 and 3 appliances (not the NB200 or AP9361 rack access) were designed on the old NetBotz and NetBotz Central paradigm. This design was based on the idea of the intelligence "on the edge". This was so that there would be no single point of failure. If DCE goes down or loses comm with one or more devices, the devices themselves will still be able to alert for themselves.
Keep in mind that the NetBotz appliance is also able to alert in many more ways than DCE such as output relays etc. Leaving DCE alone to alert would cause the loss of this type of alerting mechanism. Requests such as this have however come to our attention in the past and product management is aware that some customers would rather have DCE alert as it does for SNMP devices that it monitors. This is something that they may consider in the future but as far as I know, there are no current plans to change the way 7.x DCE and current NetBotz offerings work together.

With respect.
