DCE 7.4 & DCO 8.0.1 support on Hyper-V

Hi,

For one our new installation, where DCE is installed as a Virtual machine, client wants to have both

DCO 8.0.1 and DCE 7.4 to be installed in HYPER-V. Is there any support issue with Hyper-V?

We will be given One single IBM server with 32GB RAM, and we install Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V in it to create the VM's. Will this scenario work properly?

I had installed DCO 8.0.1 in Hyper-V for one of our previous project and it was working fine. But not sure about DCE 7.4.x.

Hi shemilusman,

DCE was never supported on Hyper-V. I believe some people were able to get it to work by converting the OVA to VHD format, but again this is not something we can support if the customer has issues afterwards.

I tried it personally on Hyper-V in Windows 10. Both DCE 7.4.1.5 and DCO 8.0.4 work. 

To convert the OVA of DCE 7.4.1.5, I used VirtualBox VBoxManage CloneHD tool. You will need to 

(1) Unzip the OVA into a folder. Get the VMDK

(2) Use VBoxManage CloneHD to convert it from compressed VMDK into normal VMDK

(3) Use VBoxManage CloneHD again to convert it from normal VMDK to VHD

(4) To add more hard disk space to DCE, you need to create a new VHD first, then add it to the DCE at settings. You will do with it~
