DCE 7.2.5 Backup is not restored DCE 7.3.1

Hi All,

 

After i backup DCE 7.2.5 in a windows share file, I install DCE 7.3.1 server, so i try to restore to backup on DCE 7.3.1 server, but backup file is not seeing and it can not be restored. Do you have any solution for that?

Hi Kerem,

That is not supported, you can only restore a corresponding backup on 7.3.1, ie. a 7.3.1 backup can only be restored on DCE 7.3.1.

And 7.2.5 backup can only be restored on DCE 7.2.5, etc.

To upgrade a DCE 7.2.5 to 7.3.1 the following sequential upgrade steps would be needed:

7.2.5 > 7.2.6 > 7.2.7 > 7.3.1

It would be recommended to collect a backup between each upgrade steps.  (Once an upgrade completes, download and install the updated client, login, make a backup, and then start the next upgrade).

Hi Jef, When ร„ยฐ installed the DCE 7.3.1, i can not use old license key because of changing MAC adress. How can reset and upload new server my keys? Thank you

Hi Kerem, That's correct, the DCE license keys are tied to the server MAC address. If for some reasons, such as hardware failure, you/customer should need to restore a solution on another/replaced hardware, then you need to contact the local tech support for instructions.
