Hello There
I have a problem with DCE, where i have tried to push out configurations out to equipment, but when i have a misconfigured equipment, and that task hangs, it dosen't timeout and make space for next configurations task.
So my question is, how do i stop existing tasks running, and is that even possible, so i dont have to restart the DCE appliance ?

Hi Glenn,
If the device is unreachable, the system should simply move on to the next task / device. I have sen instances however where the configuration id not accepted by the device or there's something not quite right about what is being pushed and the waiting message appears to stay forever. When this happens, the only way to remove such messages is to reboot the server. This is a known issue.
This should not however stop any future configuration pushes or other system tasks. If that is happening, can you please give specifics about how you configured the device and what configuration was pushed along with the DCE and device firmware revisions. I'll verify this is what I have seen in the past and pass it on to engineering.

Glenn,
The issue to which I am referring had not yet documented but since then, a k-base has been created. The issue that I am aware of is pushing FTP settings. The system will come back saying retrieving configuration and it will not clear. Please see k-base FA274520.
If you can provide detail on what is happening on your system. not only can I tell you if this is the issue or not but if it is something different, I can also test and verify that so as to help with your specific issue if different than the one I am aware of. We can also assist not only you but others going forward.

And yes Steven, the K-base article is exactly what we are experiencing, there should be a stop button 🙂

Agreed, or a clear button....again, it is in the system as something to be addressed.
