Hello.
I am trying to change credentials for a set of rDPUs through DCE (model AP8681), but it is not working.
I am using SNMP device configuration option. I select the target device, then I retrieve the device settings and change the passwords but when I submit to send the changes to the devices, the status of the task (visible in the device configuration status) appears unresponsive. The only way to access to the device again through DCE is to reboot DCE.
I can access to the management card of the PDU through console but with the old password, the changes have not been applied.
I have tried to apply password settings to one pdu or several, but with the same results.
I haven't had these problems for the rest of the settings of the PDU, I can change them without problems.

Hi Manuel,
Are the rPDU's using FW 6.x? If so, these settings (username/passwords), cannot be changed in DCE due to security reasons. On FW 6.x user configuration/modification is no longer supported or available via the config.ini. This can be done using a .csf, explained in KBase FA176542. also Kbase FA156117 maybe of use to you also.
Regards,
Breda

Thanks, Breda. Related to that issue, if I want to make a template of these settings. When I am going to save this template, it doesn't let me save because the fields for the passwords are blank, so I am forced to type a value to save the template. Taking this into account, could I type the credentials (knowing that these fields won't be applied) because of the aforementioned issue in order to save the template? Apart from that, I have noticed that when I retrieve the information for a device, some fields (like the user passwords) appear in blank (even when I know that I configured them with a value). This could be confusing for somebody who has not configured the device but needs to operate with it. He could think that no values are configured for a specific field and proceed to configure it again, causing possible issues.

Hi Manuel, I would advise not creating the template for user management on DCE when the devices you are using are on FW 6.x. I would use the other methods for user management as discussed on KBase FA156117. Regards, Breda
