Can't do a full backup in DCE anymore.

I have looked in the  nbc.xml log, cause i can't backup the DCE and the problems seems to do with old backups made in dce 7.2.0, and the full backup keeps referring to the old full backup there where done in 7.2.0, so therefor i can't seem to make it do a new full backup for 7.2.2 i have applied log file regarding this subject in this reply, is there any there can guide me in the right direction for making a new full backup for the 7.2.2 so i can upgrade to 7.2.3 and so on 😀

I have let out server names in the log file replaced with XXXX but that shouldn't be a problem to see what the problem is.

I need a new full backup for have secure point, when i upgrade the 7.2.2 to the 7.2.3 and so on.

Hi Glenn,

Most of the errors in that file are due to DDF files. Most of the names appear odd, potentially corrupt:

mkstemp "/data/mount/backup/backup_XXXXXXX_20151110125511_7.2.2/opt/netbotz/data/ddfs/snmp/.e??_mon_uio_1b.xml.xPGnHj" failed: No such file or directory

Other than that, have you rebooted the server recently? Maybe this (what looks like) corruption is based on info in memory and a reboot could clear that up. Other basic troubleshooting, have you tried backing up to a different location? Can you run a config only backup? Do you have any non-standard DDFs on the system? Are you able to purge some of the old data?

Hello Steven

Yes i have non standard DDF in the repository, they are in this post.

I have tried both config and resyncing don't work, and yes rebooted several times, but only from the client, i don't think i have the password for login thru SSH console, i think that is Schneider restricted 😀

And also tried to backup to different locations same issue.

I will try to shrink the database.

Hi Glenn,

To reboot the server, you do not need ssh access. You simply go through the console menu and choose file -> reboot server.

Have you tried purging data, is that what you mean by you will try shrinking the DB?

These non-standard DDF files, you say they are" they are in this post." I see no reference to them other than what's in the log. Are they simply DDFs created by multivendor or have you created or edited some? Had you been able to back up since they've been installed?

Was there anything else done to the system since the last time you were able to back up?

Hi Steven

Yes i have tried to shrink the DB data didn't help.

I have tried to reboot the server, didn't help.

The DDF is a Schneider electric made DDF we are using for HP PDU, and i can't remember if we even have had a successful backup after that, don't think so actually, i could try to remove the DDF, i have now also tried that, no luck in removing that DDF and make a successful backup.

And no nothing else was done, else than a upgrade from 7.2.0 to 7.2.1 to 7.2.2 and now we are stuck.

As said, it seems that it keeps referring to the old backup 7.2.0 which was the last full backup.

Hello again.

I have updated the server to version 7.2.7 so latest version, and it sill do have the problem with the full backup, keeps referring back to version 7.2.0 where the first backup was made.

If you can provide an e-mail or something i can send you the log file.

Hi Glenn,

I'm still unsure what you're referring to when you say it's referencing 7.2.0. I don't recall seeing data on this. Perhaps you want to contact support directly when you're at the system as this appears to be taking quite some time. What region are you in. Perhaps we could get support to contact you directly so we can get all the necessary info (if I can get your contact info from the admins to this site).

Hi Glenn,

I'm looking to get someone in your region to help work on this with you directly. I did take a look at the partial log file and yes, I saw reference to 7.2.0 but I also saw reference to 7.2.1 and 7.2.2 back on 11/10/15:

11/10/15 12:55:12.519 ERRR - Backup Log: LOG: Failed to backup the local ddfs to /data/mount/backup/backup_XXXXXXX_20151109161338_7.2.2 11-09-2015 16:13:39
(com.netbotz.server.services.backup.impl.BackupJob

I'm also looking to get some assistance with what data we do have.

Steve

P.S.

I see quite a few of these errors that reference rsync. Although I can not verify this is the issue at this time, is it possible to try a config backup to a windows system if you have not already done so?
