Can dcimassets record the 'built in' 25node license on DCE?

It does not seem to record the 25n license that comes with DCE and it would be nice if it could. If you look at any asset on the list then it will show any licenses that have been added since deployment, but not those that were included with the DC server appliance.

Is there a way to add a license key to an existing DCE appliance without going through 'Redeem Passcode'. I can't figure it out if there is.

Would be good for record keeping purposes...

Hi Garry,

No, there is no way to add it. If they started to add it, I believe it would sku the system especially when tech support verifies support contracts, they may not know if it was a 25 node or the default 25. Also customers unfamiliar with the change could be confused. Since you don't actually add the 25 node, I'm not sure it's necessary.

You can always put an enhancement request in the system but I doubt this will ever become part of the 7.x DCE systems. The next generation of "EcoStruxure" will be set up differently so something like this may work better with that software.

The license keys are also not showing within DCIM Assets because they are non-transferrable licensing. Only additional licensing is shown as the base server when you register it is known to have the 2 built-in licenses.
