Hi team,
Having discovered devices in ITO via IPMI I have found that admin access is required to bring back any data. Is there a reason why admin is needed?
Can any changes be made to ITO in order that a read only account would bring back the required metrics via IPMI?
Thanks

Hello Javier
This requirement is not actually enforced by ITO but in most cases this is actually a requirement set by the the vendor/provider of the management card when IPMI based discoveries are used.
Can you provide some details regarding the management card in regards to the server make and model and the type of management card inside? for example, an HPE Proliant DL380 G9 with an ILO-4.
There are some cases where a workaround is possible.

Hi Greg,
I only have this information about discovered servers:
Where can I see the type of management card? For the moment I do not have access to the Intel Data Center Manager console due a connectivity issues with that TCP port.
Additionally, in these discovered servers we do not see in any device CPU information, only Power and temperature. Is there any table with the information of the data that each management card provides?
One last thing, we see the temperature only in the Cooling tab, in the IT Optimize pop-up we do not see temperature, only Power:

I have reached out to the intel team to see if there's a mechanism to work around the need for an admin level user account.
Regarding your other comments and questions. Discovery of devices via IPMI protocol will return temp and power data for the device (assuming the management card supports both). Other data like CPU utilization is returned by the OS based protocols like WMI, SSH with SNMP for poling, and VMware protocols so to see CPU utilization you must also discover the same server devices using one of the OS based protocols. Keep in mind this usually means discovery of a different set of IP addresses as in most cases the management card has a separate IP from the actual host.
Your last question regarding the IT Optimize overlay not showing historical temp information. Yes. This is a known issue and was logged as a feedback request. Only the HP OneView integration displays temp data in that pane today. ITO based devices do not.
Also, given your customer appears to have a number of HP servers. Do they also use HP's OneView suite? If yes, you can integrate that with DCO and that will enable visualization of CPU utilization, power and temp data based on the info OneView already has collected. Oneview has its own external systems definition in DCO and is available to customers with ITO licensing.

Hi Greg,
our customer does not have HP OneView, so we have to work with OS protocols.
Did you get any information regarding to admin level user account?
We have another problem, we have some servers Dell with Idrac 8 and it is necessary to indroduce username, password and BMC Key to monitor them. In Intel Data Center Manager consolo we can discover them introducing BMC Key, but in DCO we cannot introduce BMC Key, only username and password. So we do not see the information in DCO.
Is there any work around for this issue?
