Adding portlets in Portal

I've downloaded a couple of weather portlets from Liferay but can't seem to get them to show up as available in the StruxureWare Portal. They deployed from the auto-deploy folder on the server and I can see them in the Tomcat directory, but they do not show up in the add portlet drop-down menu. Has anyone else added additional portlets to their dashboards?

HI Sam,

I've not used any added portlets other than the once already available from Liferay.

It might be due to the Schneider Electric theme that might be filtering out the portlets. The theme can be changed using the control panel-> site pages. This will however change the look and feel of the site. However maybe adding the portlets using the standard Liferay theme and then changing it back to the Schneider theme once added.

Please also let me know of the portlet so that I could try it out my self 😀

Hi Søren,

I tried changing the theme back to classic and it still doesn't show up in the portlet list. The Liferay documentation doesn't seem to have anything to say about this particular issue.

The portlets are Yahoo-weather-report and Weather CE.

Hi Sam,

regarding weather portlets, it seams that Yahoo-weather-report is not compatible with Liferay version running StruxureWare Portal, but Weather CE portal is, it should appear as Weather portlet under News section,

I was able to install it through out both control panel Marketplace and by uploading war file to deploy folder on server.

only thing is that Weather CE portlet does not look as screenshot provided from Lifeary due to that liferay installs version that is supported by current version of liferay running StruxureWare Portal. 

let me know if you still experience any issues installing weather portlet.

Hi Elvedin, I'm having issues getting Weather CE to load after putting it in the deploy portal. Our proxy settings make it impossible to load anything through the marketplace inside the portal. I'll try it again after I get back into the office. Thanks for the assistance.
