Hello Support,
I would like to know if safe to update firmware of UPS using StruxureWare Data Center Expert without reboot of the device.
Or is it need to schedule the update of firmware? What is the best practice upon updating the firmware.
Regards,
Floro

Hi Floro,
Good day!
The DCE only updates the network card firmware, and this should not affect the APC UPS's operations.
The "system" that is needed to be rebooted refers to the network card's firmware as it is being applied to the APC UPS NMC hardware.
The UPS NMC firmware update should not cause the UPS to turn off and restart.
Kind regards,

Hi Justine,
Thank you for the confirmation. It means we are safe to update the NMC firmware anytime, as long as the firmware is available.

Yes. You are right. If by any chance the UPS has restarted during the upgrade, I am sure that it is not the NMC firmware that caused this.
