I am just trying to confirm if the AP8886 PDU is able to report to DCE if one of its Circuit Breakers (16A) has tripped? We had a Server PSU fail which popped the CB on one of our AP8886 and there was no alarm in DCE. In fact there was no status indication in DCE (or by logging into the device itself) that the CB had tripped at all. We only knew because other servers on the same bank reported PSU errors.
Can I confirm that the AP8886 does not report CD trips?
Thanks
Craig

Hi Craig, can you check whether the Low Load Warning has been set to 1 amp. You will see a new Blue color bar in the Load section. I believe that will ensure that you will get an email on breaker trip.

Thanks Vineet. The challenge with that work around is that we do have many PDU's that have no load on some phases from time to time and by making a minimum I need to constantly manage the PDU with and without load. I was just trying to confirm that the actual CB is not monitored by the PDU and therefore will not alarm if tripped. Thanks Craig

The straight answer is that the breakers are NOT monitored on any of the APC Rack PDU's. We have the same issue where many of the rack PDU's have less than 1A on them, and in this case there appears to be no work around.
