hi ecostruxure,
how can I setup a critical alert in ecostruxure for when my PDUs goes offline? I have tried creating a threshold policy and setting the lower critical power alert to 0 but this does not fire an alert. The only alert I get is a device communication alert but this isn't a good indication of a power outage as sometimes devices can spam the gateway when they try to poll via snmp

Hello @clucas,
I am assuming that if the power is out, that the PDU is also in an offline state. This would mean that sensor values can't be polled from the PDU. In order to trigger any created thresholds within IT Expert, sensor value updates would be needed. As the PDU is offline, the Gateway is not able to poll any sensor values, so no updates to them would occur as the device is in an offline state. After attempting to reach the device a few times, the Gateway/IT Expert will trigger a lost communication alarm. There is no way to create a threshold based on a sensor value as there are no sensor value updates for the device while it is offline.
If you have a UPS that may still be providing power during a power outage, you should be able to create thresholds against some of its sensors as it would still provide updates as long as it is online and the Gateway can poll it and provide the information to IT Expert.
Regards,
Cory
