Text with vertical scroll bar

is there a way I could add a vertical scroll bar to a text or to do something else that would give the same result?

Not really.

There's not much capability for things like text flow etc in ViewX mimics.

It's only really embedded lists that get scroll bars, so whilst you could have a whole bunch of rows of text (each representing a line) to get scroll bars I don't think it would work in the way that you'd be happy with.

Does depend on what you're using and the text you're showing too. Things like NoteText is often an area where this matters.

If you're talking in scripting using Form.AddTextBox then there are methods on that to control scrolling when you set up multi-lined functionality. Done that with a MOTD function using NoteText on a specific object and depending on permissions allow editing too.

Assuming however you mean a text box on the mimic directly, you could show the characters between 0 and n (where n fits within the text box size) then with some custom up and down arrow buttons to shift the characters up through the string. Maybe not cosmetically the best looking thing in the world but it should work.

A nicer experience could be just to show the first n chars and let the user click on the text box to run a bit of scripting to show the full string, just got to watch out for modalness as that could be annoying.

Finally depending on exactly what you're showing and how you structure your mimics you have dynamic resize of objects so like the previous suggestion when you click instead of popping up a box it could just resize the box on the mimic. And clicking again shrinks it back to normal.
