Suggestion: Video Integration
In some previous (legacy) platforms we had the ability to embedded video (RTSP, HTML) typically though the old OLE/ActiveX platform.
We have used the Remote Image option to update snapshots on a specific interval or action, but a live video option would certainly be a great addition for some applications. With the new HTML5 Virtual Client now part of 2019, maybe progress will be made to implement a HTML5 Video element that can use the codecs available on the machine.
Just a simple request or suggestion, for now we launch a dedicated VMS viewer.

Chrome/WebKit is now used for the internal web page viewer as of version 2021.
Cannot do a download function, but most other functions appear to work (new window, responsive layouts).

You can open hyperlinks to web pages in ViewX, so if the video is on a page already it should work.

Correct, you can force the default browser to open. We do this often to load external reporting and video connections
I am hoping more along the lines of embedding actual video in the mimic.

Having an embedded video player within ViewX would still be good though 😉

Since it appears Chromium/WebKit (Chrome, Edge (New), Operara, etc.) will now rule the world why not join the party with the integrated viewer:
Chromium Embedded Framework.
https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/
Has links to using with .Net, Delphi, Java and others.
Allows embedding the web browser similar to how the ViewX currently embeds the IE ActiveX control.
A little bit of work and can keep security going.
Nearly every VMS and other machine vision camera works well inside a browser.
Allow a Inset window with the ViewX instead of only allowing a new or navigate and this will be easy to begin integration.

I'm not sure that ViewX has ActiveX anymore. I know that it did have it (albeit unsupported) back in 2013 era (and prior), but I'm pretty sure when they migrated up to the 2014/2015 platform and had the major UI revamp it was dropped completely.
ViewX does actually already have a Chromium component, it's used to popout the GeoSpatial maps. But these also aren't capable of being embedded into a ViewX Mimic at this stage (although I've got a few feature requests that I've submitted around this).
Definitely worth sending in feature request tickets in my opinion (to your local Tech Support contact). Without feedback from End Users / System Integrators on what direction the product 'should' take, it becomes a guessing game for Schneider/AVEVA.

Interesting they would have Chromium support for the Geo/Maps but use the old OLE/ActiveX web component for displaying hyperlinks in ViewX:
I am aware they no longer allow ActiveX integration within the ViewX and dont want that back haha.

It can't be nested within a normal Mimic display though right? (I've got 2021 installed, but haven't used it much).
If it supported a nested HTML 'viewer' (i.e. a display element on a standard Mimic that could be set with a URL) that would be great...

No Bevan, though that has been lodged as an enhancement request.
