Redundant System Configuration
Hello,
I have 2 servers that need to work as backups for each other and these servers are virtual. I installed Geo SCADA Expert 2023 November 2024 version on both servers and completed the purchase of the necessary licenses. After that, I need to make the correct backup configurations for these servers. I researched the documents for this and saw that I could do it from the "Partner" section in Server Configuration. I continued to read the relevant documents for this, but some things are still confusing.
For example, I opened this page from the computer that will be my main server. Do I need to define my backup server in Standby on this page? Or is the Backup Connection section for backup connections? Also, where should I define my main server for the configuration on the computer that will work as a backup?

Conceptually there aren't main and backup servers, just a redundant pair of servers, either of which may be main at any given time, and the other server will be standby.
Do I need to define my backup server in Standby on this page?
Yes, and vice versa on the other server.
Or is the Backup Connection section for backup connections?
The backup connection settings are used for redundant networking, i.e. when your servers each have two network adaptors and two IP addresses.
Also, where should I define my main server for the configuration on the computer that will work as a backup?
See above, the partner settings mirror each other, so server A's partner is server B and server B's partner is server A.
