OPC UA and Node-red

Hello, I am a 6th former at a technical college, trying to extend my PLC programming skills. Recently I have been attempting to use Node-red in conjunction with my Siemens S-7 1500 to create a dashboard on my laptop I can control the PLC from. Only I am not at all sure what the OPC UA pre and post instance commands are doing, or how to set up my PLC as a server and make it communicate. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, as I'm finding Siemens' documentation on it hard to follow.

Hi. I'm pleased you are trying and learning technology for industrial controls - this is super in a young engineer!

This is a Schneider Electric forum, so there may not be expertise here to help with Siemens devices.
