Hi all,
We are having a lot of weird problems and issues with WebX, the reverse proxy, and now the OPC-UA server components all using the same ports, not working as expected, eating up WebX seats even with no one connected and more.
Okay, problem at hand is Windows System Kernel is eating up port 80 so we cannot use it for WebX or the reverse proxy. Through some digging and netsh commands we found that Archestra Web Hosting and Platform Common Services (PCS) are the things that are using this system HTTP server. We cannot figure out how to turn those services off or change the port. Are we stuck? Do we need to re-install? Anyone else seen this?
I'll keep bashing at it and see where I get to.

Hi Dustin,
the ports used by the AVEVA components are required for the UA functionality to work. They will share with other services using HTTP.SYS, but not the Geo SCADA WebX services. You can change the ports these AVEVA services use. Go to the Start menu, AVEVA, Configurator, then select System Management Server, then Advanced. You can change the http and https ports here.
Kind regards
Steve

Alright! Narrowed it down. It is in fact the Aveva Platform Common Services stuff that is holding port 80. With the following services running:
AVEVA Data Store
AVEVA Service Manager
AVEVA Watchdog
Port 80 is consumed by the System Kernel. Checked with my dev laptop and same thing.
If I stop these services port 80 frees up.
Stage 2 - going to update original WebX to port 8080 and port 443 and see what happens. Reverse Proxy currently disabled until we figure out the licensing/HTTP error 403 issues.

Hi Dustin,
this port is opened by the AVEVA Watchdog. On my PC I had IIS using that port and UA server still worked fine, so it depends on which got there first! I'll try to find out how to disable it from getting the port, or change the port.
Thanks
Steve
