[Imported] Overulling mimic drop down menu

>>Message imported from previous forum - Category:General Items<<
User: ROVSCADAENGINEER, originally posted: 2018-11-25 22:55:45 Id:326
I am working with creating some drop down menus for pumps on a mimic page. I have traced back to the dource of the original drop down menu by locating the file in template etc. When I edit the drop down menu entries to allow for pump master inhibit etc. this does not update on the mimics main page. I have checked that the digital and analogue points referenced are correct, functioning aswell and that they are in the correct folder location. still however the points do not show up?

What I am asking is if there is a way to locate the actual source of the drop down menu is without using the locate in database explorer from the mimics page. I have attached an image also. Is there any other reason I am not aware of that would cause this not to happen? I tried updating the mimics from the template and it still did not deploy objectively to each site.

Any help appreciated!

Kind regards. ![]((see attachments below) 86/nqspcmodxhcp.png "")

this may seem like a silly question but, I am pretty stuck on this. maybe I was not very clear in my explanation. Originally I thought the issue was that the IO folder was not stored in the template and that was why the option was not appearing on the drop down menu. So inste
ad I edited the mimic in the site folder itself to directly call the IO functions from the IO folder stored in the site folder. it would make sense for this to work yet still no menu option is appearing. I am a little confused as to why this might be occurring. I have attached images with the folder structure and the settings.

Could your user's control permissions be messed up?

Good question.. No unfortunately as we have tried with two different users.

How many levels of templating is your instance under?
The SymbolBasic mimic is within an instance of something, do you have DocumentContent overridden in the template?
Where are you editing the symbol, in the template or the instance?

If you open an instance of the pump Mimic you are working with, can you edit the mimic? There is a Property Override that will allow you to edit mimics inside of an instance of a template. If this is turned on, then the Instance(s) of the Mimic will not update with any changes saved to the Template, even if you do a Repair Instance. The only way to fix this that I am aware of is to manually edit the Mimic, or to copy and paste in the changes from the Template.
