We have a client that is going to be making extensive use of pop-ups and faceplate graphics; more like what you would see in other HMI software. We are having trouble setting up consistent sizing for the pop-up. For example one faceplate might be a little wider than another so it is hard to guesstimate the percentage required to get the fonts and objects to appear the same size. For now we have resigned ourselves to fixing the pop-up widths so that when they open we can be reasonably assured the objects are going to appear correct without zooming to compensate for differences in sizes.
Is there a way to open inset but have the mimic we are opening determine the width and height of the window? This would enable us to open the pop-ups at 100% zoom every time and get more consistency on the size of the objects inside.

You can try turning off zooming for the mimic and possibly setting the layer to fixed. If that works for you, you have to be careful to make sure the mimics will work on whatever computer has the smallest resolution. Now days such a computer is usually a laptop that is short vertically.

My current experience is with pop up/faceplates that all of mine have zooming turned off, and any time you open a pop up that is not sized to the height or width of the mimic it contains, the mimic is automatically resized to fit the smallest dimension of the pop up window so that the full mimic is always displayed. Resizing the pop up window, same still applies, the mimic will expand/contract to with the size of the pop up, but will always be fully visible.
