[Imported] Alarm lists and alarm bell

This is a re-posting from the obsoleted (October 2018) "Schneider Electric Telemetry & SCADA" forum.

-----------------

**_hardin4019:_**
**_Is it possible to get the alarm bell with the count of unacknowledged, acknowledged alarms, and silence bell to show up on an alarm list that is imbedded in a mimic and prefiltered?_**

---------------------------

bevanweiss:
Not that I'm aware of. Apart from the actual bell sound, the rest could all be emulated with mimic graphics and animations. But I'm not sure it would have much benefit.

Are you wanting a completely separate Alarm Banner pre-filtered at the bottom of every site / area?

That does conflict with the original intended purpose of the Alarm Banner, which was specifically to show you alarms which you may not be directly looking at on your current mimic view / alarm panel. A filtered Alarm List isn't sufficient?

----------------------

**_hardin4019:_**
**_What was requested was a single mimic with 3 diferent alarm lists. Each list is filtered to include only certain severities. One list for Critical, One List for High and Medium, One list for Low and Alert. The idea being that in the near future, the work stations the controllers sit at will have more monitors, and can have an entire Monitor dedicated to this alarms list screen._**

------------------------------

AWoodland:
Whilst not quite what is asked, have you looked into the fullscreen alarm banner feature? Basically you set a head to be an alarm banner only, no mimics/etc (they all get opened on another head)

The bell is attached to the banner, not alarm lists, so you can't make the beeps from lists.

----------------------------

**_hardin4019:_**
**_I had thought the same thing, but that wasn't what was requested. I did end up using the alarm lists and making my own Queries and points to count the number of alarms and make my own icons. Not as simple as the alarm banner, but it falls right in line with what was requested and it appears to work fine so far._**

Hi,
is it possible to just get the bell from the alarm banner? Or even better the functionality to acknowledge the sound of an alarm. For better understanding: We build our own Alarmlist, cause the "built in Version" is not enough for our customer. Everything works with the list. But now we have a customer who wants an alarm sound to be played when an alarm occurs. Which is also working. Now we need a button or something else to acknowledge the sound, cause otherwise it won't stop. And our customer doesn't want the standard alarm banner at all. Can I somehow include the Alarmbanner in a mimic? So I could hide everything except the button? Or do you have any other idea on how to solve the problem?

Regards,
Martin

Is the alarm sound assigned to the alarm "Severity" in the Server Configuration tool under Severities? If so, it should stop sounding once acknowledged or the alarm bell silenced by clicking on the red flashing box in the "built in alarm banner".

Being able to silence the alarm sound from a custom alarm Mimic or inset Alarm List is something I had never figured out and from the looks of things, wasn't available to be done outside of the built in alarm banner.

Thanks.

Note that Geo SCADA 2019 now has enhanced Alarm Redirection features, and can now pass contact information to alarm redirection methods, leading to easy integration with modern cloud-based voice notification systems such as Twilio.

There's an example in the 2019 release notes (Link: https://schneider-electric.box.com/shared/static/zbqrws07ln0mt3wbf0j5e0mxbv1vnvls.pdf ) showing what to do, and full implementation details on github.

Geo SCADA allows configuration of alarm notification via its redirection features, allowing the choice of notification types such as email, SMS and now voice. User accounts can be configured with multiple contact details. The rules-based configuration includes features for redirection based on time of day, alarm severity, place in hierarchy and Area of Interest, multiple sends with rosters, calendars and schedules and geographical co-ordinates of the alarm and users.

SMS, email and voice notification all include capabilities for alarm acknowledgement, with built-in security features, and redirection can also include escalation and the filtering of actions if users are already logged in.
