How to email a variable at specified time intervals

Hello experts!

I'm working on trying to send the value of a variable via email during specified times of day.

I'm unsure of how to set up an alarm to trigger the "event" once per hour which will send the email via redirection.

You may want to upgrade that version of ClearSCADA, it's a little old. Newer email servers that only support encryption won't be supported in ClearSCADA 2013, and are supported in newer versions, so you may have issues sending emails.

Crystal Reports is probably your best bet, you can set it to Export to email. You can use a schedule to control when the Export method is called, or if it is off an alarm look into alarm redirection to trigger the Export method.

Yeah, I'm currently using Crystal reports, but I have some people complaining that they have to go through the overly cumbersome process of opening a pdf (sarcasm).

They want to be able to see the value in the email body or subject line.

Hmm, Crystal Reports won't help you then. You may be looking at using a third party tool to query the database {using ODBC or API as necessary}, handle the body of the email and send it to the email server.

PowerShell should be able to do this, and you should be able to trigger the process using schedules/alarm redirections in much the same way as crystal Reports (run a system command instead of a method)
