How to Pre-develop Groups in GeoSCADA expert 2021

Hi all. New to the forum and Geo SCADA. I have some SCADA experience just new to this one. Hoping to get over to Houston for the training in the next month or two.

The problem I'm having, and I have googled and searched the forum, is that we have several field devices that are having the PLC switched out to another brand so all the OPC points need to be updated. I know what all the new tags will be and I'd like to pre-build these new devices so I can just switch them over when the new PLC is switched on but when I try to do this I get alarms on the existing devices because of the duplicate alarms so my question is. Is there a way to pre-build these and put them in "development mode" so that none of the alarms or tags are active and then I can put these in "Production" and the old ones in "Development"?

Again I'm sorry if this is a noob question but I had a similar function in several of the SCADA systems I used in the past and it was very helpful.

Database items which are still under development should be kept out of service until you're ready for them to go live and become active, see Placing an Item In Service in the help.

It might depend a little bit on what specific driver you're using, but in general there is an 'In Service' property, if you take the objects out of service then they won't be used for comms. You could take each point out of service, or you could point them to a an out of service scanner/outstation/server object.

Thanks, I think that in combination with the "visible" checkbox will do what I want.
