After an upgrade from Geo SCADA Version 81 to 84, the following services do not run:
If I open the ‘Geo SCADA Expert Service Manager’ then select ‘Start’ it immediately stops again. Have you seen this issue before?
If I reinstall Version 81, the services run ok.

What does Windows Event Log say for the service not starting? It is probably a generic message but may say something useful.
What you could do is run dbserver.exe under your user account so you would get any application popups that would normally be surpressed, likely an error with loading a DLL. To do this:
1. Open Command Prompt as administrator and cd to where you installed Geo SCADA/ClearSCADA
2. Run: "dbserver /noservice" - this removes the service that is usually started when you start dbserver
3. Run: "dbserver" - this now runs dbserver under your user credentials so you get the interactive prompts, my guess is within a second you'll get a popup with a more detailed error, note doing this without first running the /noservice switch will just start the service normally and you wont see anything extra
4. To restore the dbserver back to running as a service, make sure dbserver.exe is not running and run: "dbserver /service"
5. Close cmd
To see what other options you can choose with dbserver use "dbserver /?". Also note that if it does start successfully as it would be running under your user credentials it might not work very well, for example file permissions may get in the way of actually loading/writing the database and any user impersonation might not work if you don't have the right user policies. Ideally do this on a test system rather than production if you have that luxury!

Try uninstalling v81 and then installing v84 instead of upgrading the installation.
I have had some ViewX Client installations that would not run the license server and that is what I had to do.

I just upgrade a couple of servers from Geo SCADA 2022 to Geo SCADA 2023 and this happened on one of them.
I uninstalled Geo SCADA 2023 and then installed it again and then the services ran fine.

I noticed the Network Adapters were missing on the Server within 'Network Connections'. I carried out the HP Service Pack install which re-installed the 'Network Connections' then Geo SCADA Database 84 started up.
