Hi everyone,
I'm trying to connect a Schneider Electric M580 PLC to Geo SCADA using EtherNet/IP. The PLC is configured with a NOC module at IP address 192.168.0.88
. I'm able to set up the outstation, but when I try to browse or manually enter a tag name (e.g., 25_FI_121B_EUHI
), I get the following error:
"Tag Name Element '25_FI_121B_EUHI' is Invalid. Tag Name Element is allowed alphanumeric characters, colons and underscores. Must start with either an underscore or alphabetic character."
When I try to browse tags using the ellipsis (
...
) button in Geo SCADA, I receive a timeout error:"This operation returned because the timeout period expired. (0X8001011F)"

Well if you have not done so already you can try changing the tag name. Your example starts with a 2 and a 2 is number not an underscore or alphabetic character.
I have only connected to Allen Bradley PLCs and sometimes it does not show all the tags using the browse, but I have not tried to figure out why.
I would would not be surprised that if there are any tags that do not match its format criteria then the browse will fail.

The Geo SCADA Ethernet/IP driver is documented and tested against AB devices, not SE M580.
The timeout error is interesting - perhaps raise a support case with the logs?
