Export ClearSCADA Historic Data

Hi, I refer to https://www.se.com/ww/en/faqs/FA312272/.

Where it mentions WKxxxxxx.hrd files.

Can these .hrd files be copied from one GeoSCADA machine and pasted in to the appropriate folder of another. GeoSCADA machine?

(Example of folder path - C:\ProgramData\Schneider Electric\ClearSCADA\Database\History\Historic\HdI02382\609845)

Would the GeoSCADA machine with pasted files, then pick up on these files or would we have to import / configuration?

The ultimate goal of this post is to investigate if .hrd file can be copied over from one GeoSCADA machine and used in another.

Thanks,

Sure, you can do it and it will work most of the time, but by doing this method you bypass database locking. Don't raise a case with support when the data is incomplete or corrupted, or the server raises alarms about not being able read historic data!

There are methods built in to do this, use them.

In your example, 609845 is the object ID for the point that generated the historic data. Whichever object ID is there on the destination system is the object that the data will be added to. There will need to be an existing point configured with that object ID.

When copying and pasting database files, the system should be stopped to avoid issues with flushing and file access, but as Steve said in the other topic it's not an ideal way to do it.

Have a read of this page on streams.

Hi, I created a point in one GeoSCADA vm and created a .hrd file for that point.
Then copied the .hrd file over to another GeoSCADA vm where I had created another point of the same name.
Restarted that GeoSCADA and it picked up on the copied file.

In practise stopping the first GeoSCADA machine in order to copy the file would be an issue.

Not so for the second GeoSCADA machine.
Thanks,

Hi, can you please elaborate on "There are methods built in to do this, use them.".
Which methods do you refer to exactly.

Thanks,
