I'm working to update an existing system from ClearSCADA 2017 to GeoSCADA 2021. The existing 2017 configuration is a hot-standby pair, with the upgrade plan of pairing one 2017 machine with an intermediate 2019 (Dec 2022 update) machine, then after that syncs breaking that pair an pairing the 2019 machine w/ a 2021 machine. Once that syncs we'll create a matched 2021 hot-standby pair.
We've successfully gotten from 2017 to 2019, but in going from 2019 to 2021 I'm unable to establish a pair. The 2021 machine shows an error of "C01400F7 -> Requested parent link encryption scheme is not supported". Both servers (when running) are running as isolated Main (although the '21 machine has a blank database since it's never established the peer connection to sync).
Any thoughts? Not particularly excited to be an early adopter of 2022 only ~36 hours after official release. We'd much prefer to stick with 2021 for this update.

One little bit of additional info:
The 2019 machine’s error message is a little different “80010006 -> The connection terminated or is in a bogus state and cannot be used anymore. Other connections are still valid”

You may need to contact support for this issue. Which monthly update of Geo SCADA 2021 is used?
Is the "Allow clients/partners to use legacy protocol" checkbox enabled on the server?

Good morning, Steve -
In the client configuration utility I have "allow legacy protocol" checked. I don't see an equivalent setting under partner configuration on the server. Is it buried on another tab that I'm missing?

I'd try going to 2020 and then 2021

I think we're just lost in translation here. OP suggested a few posts up that the client was set to allow legacy protocols. Steve is suggesting that this needs to be enabled at the server level to allow forward sync to occur. In 2021 this can be found under System Configuration --> Partners --> Connection Security. Tick the legacy protocol box on the bottom of that window, restart the 2021 GS service, and it should all be good.
We do this kind of sync fairly often right now as a number of customer are migrating away from older versions. I'm confident it works as expected.

Thanks all. Too many "support legacy protocol" boxes. I'd missed one. We're upgraded and sync'd.
