Go to Administration > Gateways to see information for the Gateways in your organization.   Go to Device discovery.    1. Enter the IP addresses or address range of the SNMPv1, SNMPv3, NetBotz, and Redfish devices to discover, or import a device list.    2. You can move devices into other locations after discovery.     Search for your newly discovered devices in All locations by their IP address range.   Discovered devices are visible in IT Expert and on all the selected Gateways. All the Gateways that have discovered the device are listed in Properties on the device details page.     Discovery results are displayed in the summary including discovered devices, devices that require attention, and unsupported devices that were not discovered. Click View details. Click View log to see details and see discovery results in the discovery log.   SNMP devices that cannot be automatically identified after discovery are listed in the discovery results as Unable to identify devices. To complete the discovery, log in to the Gateway(s) and select the DDF to use for this device.   If you find that one or more of your devices is not supported, you can request device support.     Note: Your APC NMC3 devices might be configured to limit the number of failed login attempts. If the number of device file transfer credentials you provide in the Gateway exceeds the number of failed login attempts allowed on the NMC3 device, the device might be locked.

Discover PDU in DCE or ITE after replacing the display module with APDU9640NMC3

After you replace the display module in a 10000 series PDU with the new APDU9640NMC3, it is recommended that you delete the PDU devices previously discovered in Data Center Expert or IT Expert and rediscover them. This will cause historical data loss.   Options to retain historical sensor data include:   Download the data and save it before you delete the originally discovered PDUs and rediscover the updated PDUs.   In DCE or ITE, put the originally discovered PDUs in maintenance mode, and then rediscover the updated PDUs under a new IP address. Note: This option uses twice the number of nodes.   In DCE or ITE, rediscover the updated PDUs using the same IP address. Delete the sensors that are not important to you. The status of the remaining sensors from the previously discovered PDUs will be Unplugged.   Backup your DCE server. Delete the originally discovered PDUs and add the updated PDUs as new devices. If the historical data is needed, the backup can be restored and the data can be accessed.

Discover cascaded PDUs in EcoStruxure IT

You can discover cascaded APC PDUs with a single PDU acting as the host for all the cascaded guest PDUs. Note: PDUs configured with RNA (Redundant Network Access) are not supported in EcoStruxure IT.   Check this article to see if your APC PDUs support cascading and learn how to configure them: https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA164436/   Once the host PDUs and all guest PDUs are configured for cascading, you can discover the host PDU in the EcoStruxure IT Gateway or in IT Expert. Device discovery in EcoStruxure IT Gateway Device discovery in IT Expert   When you discover the host PDU, all the connected guest PDUs are also discovered.  Each guest PDU will have the IP address of the host PDU and will display as separate devices in the Gateway and in IT Expert.   Note: If the PDUs were previously discovered before they were configured for cascading, you must delete them, configure the hosts and all guest PDUs for cascading, and then rediscover the host PDUs.
