What are the cable specifications for wiring controller inputs to field devices.

Cause
There is no specification for IO field wiring.
Resolution
The line drop produced by cable resistance should be taken into account when choosing the wire gage for Input devices.
It is good practice to run a shielded cable for analog inputs simply because it give you a way to drain off any externally induced voltage.
