Unable to Open I/A Series R2 Workplace Pro or Admin Tool on Windows Computer

Issue

When attempting to open I/A Series R2 Workplace Pro or the Admin Tool, the program briefly displays its splash screen and then closes without any error message.

Cause

Insufficient computer memory prevents the standard 1024 MB Java heap from being reserved.

Resolution

Adjust the Java heap settings in the nre.properties file:

1. Backup the file before making changes.
2. Navigate to:

   \niagara\nre\lib
   

3. Open nre.properties using a text editor (e.g., Notepad).
4. Modify the line:

   java.options=-Xmx1024MB
   

   to:

   java.options=-Xmx768MB
   

   Leave all other parameters unchanged.
5. Save the file and restart the software.
