Issue
When running Sigma 4.05 with a backup from a previous Sigma release, the DeviceCnf.rec file is overwritten with a default or blank version.

Cause
Sigma 4.05 introduces a new format for the DeviceCnf.rec and GenCnf.rec files. If these files are not in the expected format, Sigma automatically replaces them with default versions during startup or backup restoration.
Resolution
To prevent data loss and ensure compatibility:

Use the Sigma Upgrade Tool:
- Navigate to:
C:\sigma\bin\SigUpgrade.exe - This tool upgrades your existing configuration files (
DeviceCnf.recandGenCnf.rec) to the correct format for Sigma 4.05.

Steps to Upgrade:
- Close Sigma if it's running.
- Launch
SigUpgrade.exeas Administrator. - Select the backup files you wish to upgrade.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the upgrade.
- Restart Sigma and verify that the configuration files are intact.
