Niagara R2 Station Fails to Start with “ERROR: Reading Ecdis210” Message

Issue

When attempting to start a Niagara R2 station, the following error appears in the Standard Output Window:

ERROR: Reading Ecdis210 [1371] Ecdis210 Subnet = 1 Node = 2 state = config_online
FATAL: Cannot boot station from sns java.io.UTFDataFormatException

Environment

• Niagara R2 UNC-410
• Niagara R2 UNC-520

Cause

The station database is corrupted. This can occur if the correct Distech module is missing or if the database file is damaged.

Resolution

1. Verify Module Installation
   Ensure the correct Distech module is installed for the station.

2. Restore from Backup
   If the module is correct and the error persists, the station database is corrupted.

   • Replace the corrupted database with a valid backup copy.
   • Restart the station after restoring the backup.
