Issue

How can a Niagara R2 UNC be configured to monitor the DI1 and DI2 contact status of a Viconics VT7600 Series Lon thermostat?

Cause

The VT7600 thermostat reports its digital input (DI) statuses within a single SNVT (nvoSccStatus). These bits are not directly exposed in the UNC without additional configuration.

Resolution

1. Ensure the VT7600 shadow object is commissioned in the UNC.
2. Open the Workspace Editor and navigate to the page containing the VT7600 shadow object.
3. Go to /tridiumx/lonworks/conversion and copy the DynamicDemux object into the Workspace.
4. Link the VT7600 shadow object to the DynamicDemux object:
   • Under VT7600 column, select nvoSccStatus.
   • Under DynamicDemux column, select link and click OK.
5. The DI statuses are mapped as:
   • DI1 → bit18 of nvoSccStatus
   • DI2 → bit17 of nvoSccStatus
6. Link these bits to the desired monitoring objects in the UNC.

Tip: The DynamicDemux object allows individual bits from SNVTs to be exposed for monitoring, making it ideal for handling composite status points.
