Issue

Users need to perform enthalpy calculations within an I/A Series R2 (Niagara) station and are unsure if a built-in object exists for this purpose.

Cause

Enthalpy calculations are not provided by default in standard Niagara R2 objects. Specialized program objects are required.

Resolution

Use one of the following program objects available in the Niagara library:

1. Psychrometric Calculations Object

   • Location:

     tridiumx/lib/programObjects/hvac/Psychrometric Calculations.sns
     

   • Function:
     Calculates enthalpy, wet bulb, and dew point using inputs of dry bulb temperature and relative humidity.
   • Requirement:
     lib.jar file must be present in the station.

2. Outside Air Optimization Object

   • Location:

     tridiumx/lib/energyManagement/OutsideAirOptimization.sns
     

   • Function:
     Compares two sets of temperature and humidity inputs to determine the air supply with the least heat load.
     • Supports temperature or enthalpy comparison.
     • Includes free cooling logic and low-temperature protection.
