Cause
The configuration process requires defining the router and associated channels before initiating automated processes in LonDeviceManager. Incorrect setup or missing steps can lead to communication failures.
Resolution
Follow these steps to configure the LON Router:

Prepare the Network:
- Cut the existing LonRouter and Channel1 from the station.
- Set the status of all Lon devices to Unknown.

Define Router and Channels:
- Refer to the procedure starting on page A-9 of the Niagara LonWorks Integration Guide.
- Define the LonWorks network, router, and associated channels before running any automated processes.

Install Termination Devices:
- Ensure four LON-TERM-2 devices (LON BUS Topology Terminators) are installed:
- One at each end of the trunk.
- One at the near end of the router.
- One at the far end of the router.
