A BS5308 part 1 type 1 cable was installed for Modbus communications, but it was then found that the communications were M-Bus
Resolution
The correct cable to use for M-Bus is J-Y(ST)Y. These indoor telephone cables transmit analogue or digital signals; Aluminium-laminated plastic foil static screen with tin-plated drain wire minimises the interference of high frequency, electromagnetic field;TP structure minimises crosstalk.
